Pack2Earth participates in the SOSTALPACK project to advance more sustainable packaging and processing solutions

At Pack2Earth, sustainability and innovation are at the core of everything we do. This commitment is reflected in our participation in the SOSTALPACK project—an initiative dedicated to enhancing efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of food processing and packaging.

SOSTALPACK is part of the Science and Innovation Missions program, supported by the CDTI (Center for the Development of Industrial Technology). The project is being developed through a consortium that brings together food sector companies such as Aurora Intelligent Nutrition, Naturvita, and Unión Martín, alongside packaging industry suppliers including Pack2Earth and Plastienvase, which leads the consortium. In addition, specialized technology centers such as CSIC-IATA and ANDALTEC are also contributing to the initiative.

The project aims to develop solutions that reduce the environmental footprint of food preservation systems while ensuring product quality, safety, and functionality.

At Pack2Earth, we contribute our expertise in the development of bio-based, biodegradable, and home compostable materials, offering packaging alternatives that promote circularity and integrate into optimized production processes designed to reduce energy and resource consumption.

Through our participation in the SOSTALPACK project, we continue to drive the transition toward a more efficient and circular food industry, aligned with the European sustainability goals for 2030. In doing so, we strengthen our role as a technology partner in the development of responsible packaging solutions that respond to the sector’s current challenges and evolving societal demands.

This project has been funded by CDTI, with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
